This large, religious-style architecture is an example of one of the most symbolic Baroque monuments of the reign of King João V, built in 1753. The church we see today replaced a chapel. Among other notable features are the tiles from the second half of the late 18th century that decorate the walls; inside, the two marble altars of various hues are another highlight. The week-long pilgrimage to the Lord Jesus of Mercy takes place every year around September 20th.

The person in charge is the Portuguese chef Miguel Rocha Vieira, who took over it in 2015. With a philosophy based on haute cuisine and the sea as its main inspiration, Fortaleza do Guincho offers a daring incursion into traditional gastronomy. In 2001, the restaurant, with a strong influence of haute cuisine, won its first Michelin star that it still holds today.

Inserted in Heredad del Regato, the winepress restaurant serves typical cuisine of the region of Beira Baixa, cooked in a wood-burning oven. The environment, which dates back to ages past, whose brands were preserved in the recovery room, combines a sophisticated contemporary past. Octopus to the mill owner, olive oil drizzled bacalhoada traditional sausages are the delight of lovers of good traditional table.

This House works currently as Mourilhe country Hotel, being located about ten kilometres of Montalegre. It is a legend associated with this construction, that lived here four sisters until, due to an event that the story does not explain, three of them died. One night, the surviving sister will have heard a spirit of a priest saying that she too would die. Terrified, told boyfriend the vision and asked him if it was goodbye to her before she died. He, disbeliever in the existence of spirits, never showed up, but she died and he, with regrets, died too.
