The Society is an Association of cultural and recreational nature, non-profit. Today is a reference of the city's cultural animation, promoting numerous events, from live music, theatre and conferences.

Manor House that, in 1930, received the first Azorean typography. Today is the official residence of the Prime Minister of the Republic. It is a typical House of the higher areas of the Portuguese cities of the Islands.

The Caixeiros mill was built in 1836 and restored in 1987. Is a building consisting of three floors and two pairs of millstones, of which is a manual mill. Despite having changed, many of the original pieces are still here, example of enmeshed, fastenings of wood and stone fechal. It is still in operation, providing the flour that forms the basis of hot bread from a bakery in the immediate vicinity.

A Gothic castle, imposing and austere, where the summit towers with spires and four pinnacles stand out as ornamentation. The walls are protected by crenellated embrasures and loopholes. Outside the walls, it is worth visiting the Chapel of Our Lady of the Incarnation and the Chaplaincy House, in 17th-century Baroque style. The population moved to the vicinity of the castle attracted by the trade of goods that took place there, giving rise to the current city.

A farm of great beauty, where lush vegetation stands out, a mini-zoo with numerous birds, and a mini-botanical garden. A stroll can be synonymous with discovery, and here you can appreciate diverse botanical species, animals, sounds, and colors that Carlos Afonso, the owner of this natural space, once wanted to share with all who visit. A small oasis for all ages.

The Roman House was the first museum section of the Mértola Museum to open in 1989. It is located in the basement of the City Hall building. During renovation work, important archaeological remains corresponding to the foundations of a Roman house (today it serves as the main building) emerged. In addition to the walls of the old building, where part of the house's impluvium stands out, period architectural elements, funerary epigraphy, ceramics, and metalwork are on display. Each section has a permanent exhibition related to its theme.

Of the Romanesque construction of this important monastic church, first by the Canons Regular and later by the Dominicans, we can only point out the structure of the chancel, where the rose window stands out. All the rest of the monastic set, valuable for its artistic capital and for its local and regional influence, is the work of the Modern Period. We highlight the Baroque interventions that reveal a period of space revitalization in the 17th and 18th centuries.

A pedestrian trail on the right banks of the Guadiana river. It passes by the ruins of the Ponte da Ajuda (Ajuda Bridge), by the place of Três Moinhos (Three Mills), where one may be visited. Near the final, do visit the Juromenha fortress.

Building of three floors, on the ground floor, open three doors, being the sides topped with shell motifs. The last two are torn by four Bay Windows with iron railings, much worked.
