Nuno Gonçalves was Alcaide-mor of the Castle de Faria, in the reign of Ferdinand I of Portugal. At this point the troops of Castile invaded our country. Taken prisoner by the Castilians, was taken to the walls of Castelo de Faria, in an attempt to convince his son, Gonçalo Nunes, then Chief of the garrison, to surrender. However, Nuno Gonçalves took the opportunity to urge his son to the resistance, and was promptly shot down. This episode became a legend and narrated by Alexandre Herculano.

Statue that pays homage to João de Deus. João de Deus was an eminent lyrical poet who, during his lifetime, was considered to be foremost amongst his peers. He was also the pioneer of a new teaching method that aimed to simplify teaching reading to children, the Cartilha Maternal. He was very popular during his lifetime and as such was laid to rest at the National Pantheon (Panteão Nacional). To this day he is still referred to as the poet of love.

This building originated from the desire of King Pedro V to transform the Quinta de Queluz into a palace. Construction began in 1747 under the direction of Mateus Vicente de Oliveira and later J. B. Robillon, who gave the palace its exquisite decoration. Inside the palace, the throne room, the music room, and the ambassadors' room are prominent features. Its gardens are adorned with statues, lakes, and fountains. The grand canal has walls covered in tiles.

O Museu Escolar (The School Museum) had its origin in a pedagogical project elaborated by the teachers of the school 1st C.E.B. of Leiria, in the academic year 1992/93, with the title "The school through the ages". Currently owns, in the building of the board parish of Marrazes, a collection of which are part of school plays recognized historical, cultural, social and political accounting periods after the mid-nineteenth century, reason of knowledge and remembrance by different age groups of the population.
