Former convent of mannerist architecture, Baroque, Rococo and neoclassical, built in the 17th century. In the 19th century suffered extensive reconstruction works and was turned into a hospital. The original building still remains the early Church, the sacristy and cloister.

In 1855-1858 began the construction of the Teatro Aveirense, a project by Araújo e Silva. The building would only be completed in 1878-1881, having been inaugurated by the Dona Maria II Theater Company. In 1912 the animatograph sessions began. Later, in 1947-1949, the space was rebuilt and opened, having been designed by Ernesto Korrodi and Engineer Von Haff. True ex-libris of the city of Aveiro, this room was the stage for a wide range of shows as Ney Matogrosso, Maria Bethânia and Vicente Amigo. It was also the space chosen for the academic soirees of the University of Aveiro.

Characterized by a strong rural component, this set was once the centre of a playground area, in the town suburbs, organized in several farms, most of them long lost. Standing out there is a small house from the “pombalino” period, on the north top of the square, the asylum-school building “Viscondessa dos Olivais”, with more noble characteristics, and the Santa Mary church, with an initial 17th century sketch and profoundly altered after the earthquake.

A village located on the Barroso Mountain, with pribiligede panoramic views, ending at the Alturas, Pinheiros and Santa Comba mountains, as well as the Beça and Tâmega rivers. Its cultural heritage includes the mother church, the chapel of Our Lady of Fontelos, a sun clock, an old milling factory, a castro (a celtic village) at the Lesenho hill, and several rural houses, namely the Casa dos Matos with a chapel. The craftswork includes wood objects.

The portal of the convent with monumental porch and portal padded Church flanked by two fluted columns, upon which runs an architrave. The interior of the Church is rich in tiles, paintings and carvings. Highlights also the coat of arms of infanta d. Maria on the cornice.

Manor House with three floors, and the main façade overlooking the Tagus River. In 1835, the Queen Dona Maria II and Prince Don Fernando were installed here. The name, by the way, comes from the fact that the Queen being hosted here.

The current Chapel of Our Lady of Deliverance is what remains of the main church of São Martinho, a significant testament to the itinerant work of artistic teams during the Romanesque period. The crevices and capitals reflect a design also adopted in the churches of Cabeça Santa, Águas Santas, and Cedofeita. The nave of the Church of São Martinho, in ruins, was demolished in 1873, and its stone was reused in the expansion of the current parish church of São Clemente.

A Casa do Artesão nasceu no antigo mercado de peixe de Vila Nova de Cerveira, junto ao baluarte de Santa Cruz, num edifício típico da arquitetura de ferro característica do século XIX. Em 2005 foi requalificado. Atualmente, o seu principal objetivo é promover o artesanato regional e os seus artesãos, apoiando a aprendizagem e o aperfeiçoamento das artes tradicionais e fazendo reviver as tradições dos núcleos rurais. Se for visitar o espaço num fim de semana, pode contar ver artesãos locais a confecionar os seus produtos, desde compotas, a artigos em cortiça e cerâmica, passando pelos bordados e pelos doces. …

Movie theater opened in 1950 with facades of composite volumes topped off by frieze and main facade with large glazed surfaces. Nowadays, belongs to the Santa Casa da Misericórdia.

Segundo dados históricos, a origem das queijadas de Sintra remonta ao século XIII, durante o reinado de D. Sancho II, sendo um meio de pagamento de foros. O local exato terá sido Ranholas, na freguesia de São Pedro de Penaferrim. Com o desenvolvimento do caminho-de-ferro a sua confeção deixou de se concentrar nesta localidade, passando também a ser comercializadas em Lisboa, que ajudou na sua industrialização, pelas mãos de uma senhora chamada Maria Sapa, em meados do século XVIII.
