This beautiful garden stretches along the land of the former Andersen's family house where you can enjoy the groves of naturalist arrangement, a plants’ collection or even hothouses with orchids, carnivorous plants and ferns, among other tropical and subtropical plants.

Housed in an old fish warehouse, the Afurada Heritage Interpretive Center is a space designed to enhance the collective memory of this fishing community. Through permanent and temporary exhibitions related to the village's traditions, such as fishing tools or traditional costumes, it allows visitors to get to know the daily life and culture of this community.

In this space the collection of sculptures, paintings, Portuguese and foreign craftswork, furniture and decoration from Teixeira Lopes (1866-1942) are to be viewed.

Construída para residência na época Medieval e após ter pertencido aos Condes de Resende, passou em 1984 para Câmara Municipal de V. N. de Gaia. Possui um Centro de Documentação Histórica, com documentação original desde a Idade Média, um Núcleo Museológico de Arqueologia, Arte e Antropologia e espaço de exposições temporárias e de Congressos. O jardim é uma das pérolas desta casa, com Camélias exemplares centenárias.

There is a legend that tells that a knight the chased the devil, disguised as a deer, jumped over the abbiss at the Lugar do Salto. As he fell, he called for the name of Our Lady and miraculously both horse and knight managed it to the other side, where one can still see the marks of the horse's horseshoes. To thank Our Lady, the knight oredered that the chapel of Our Lady of Salto would be built. This place is much appreciated both by the locals …
