Located at an altitude of 775 metres, in a rather fertile area, surrounded by rocky hills, by the Leomil Mountain. Its architectural heritage includes the18th century mother church, built in granite on the site of a romanesque construction, with a romanesque-bizantine cross inside. A special note to the chapels of Saint Francisco and Saint António, the house of the Caldeira family, the Paços do Concelho building, the crucifix and the Facho belvedere as well. The local craftswork includes linen objects and more.

Folgosinho, located on the north slope of Serra da Estrela, at an altitude of 930 metres, was the county seat until 1836. It is known for having been mentioned in the "Lusíadas", due to Viriato who, according to legend, was born here. It has a rich cultural heritage, highlighting the archaeological site of Outeiro, the medieval walls, the pillory and the church. The population dedicates itself, in its majority, to the pastoralism, being produced in this region the famous cheese of Serra da Estrela.

Belonging to the set attached to the Águas Livres aqueduct, it is an extensive stone aqueduct created to carry water to the Terreiro do Paço de Queluz for the royal stables' consumption. The work was created at the site of two springs: the Gargantada spring and the Pocinho spring, and served several fountains in Queluz. Built by King João V in 1731, it was only finished in the mid-19th century. The main section is 14 kilometers long, eight of which are in the municipality of Amadora.
