The Romantic Routes are formed by 5 thematic roads that aim to show a little of the contradictions that existed in Porto on the eighteen century, romantic and bourgeois, rural and industrial. The first road, "Porto do Romantismo", has the gardens of Palácio de Cristal as its starting point. Alfundão is one of the oldest villages in the Alentejo, with 51.90 km2 of area and 998 inhabitants. There are some Roman remains, such as two inscriptions dedicated to the goddess Fortuna that demonstrate the importance of this land in the Roman period. Even without major documentary confirmations by the 13th century Alfundão would be a landlord with its own jurisdiction. In 1372, Ferdinand donated her term to Diogo Afonso de Carvalhal, a period from which happened to have, even in fleeting, the category of village.

The Casa do Tempo was created to serve as a space for heritage preservation and a vibrant hub for cultural and educational activities. Therefore, in addition to hosting several temporary exhibitions each month, the Casa do Tempo also houses a permanent exhibition that, through contemplation of news reports from the newspaper "O Castanheirense" since January 1, 1937, and the appreciation of a collection of objects related to the wool industry, allows us to journey through the history of Castanheira de Pêra.

The Paradise Theater closed definitely to the public in 1991, after being acquired by the Câmara Municipal de Tomar in 1997, which undertook to renovate the building in ruins and inaugurate the current space in 2002. Hosts all kinds of shows, including plays and film sessions, boasting a capacity of 418 people.

Classified as a national monument, it is one of the ex-libris of the city and one of the most original examples of the Baroque style in Portugal, having been built at the behest of D. João de Mendonça, Bishop of Guarda, around 1720. It features five lakes on the main slope, where the water features stand out, while the intermediate one has the Lago das Coroas and the Stairs of the Apostles and Kings, where all the Portuguese monarchs are represented. On the upper deck is the Staircase of Moses.
