Reguengos de Monsaraz

This Megalithic granite menhir was identified and raised up in 1970. It is estimated that it has approximately 4 metres high and 1 of diameter. It was fallen, fractured and presenting signals of degradation, besides having lost its base which was carved afterwards to reconstruct the menhir.

José Bernardo de Sousa da Câmara was municipal councillor in 1752 and retired in 1798 from the rank of sergeant-major of cavalry, having died shortly after. The House was left to a niece-d. Rrr Xavier Caetano de Aragã. Is the largest manor houses of the village and retains its residential function, in great condition, outside and inside. The facade follows a sober style and symmetrical. Inside there is a chapel and several neoclassical murals.

Residential building, two floors, situated in the street that leads to the Town Hall. Here lived the doctor and benefactor of the Earth Christian Garden, duly honored, as can be read in the inscription which appears beside the central window. On the main façade, the prominence goes not only to the sobriety of the lines, highlighted by white and ochre paint, as well as for the tiles of Nossa Senhora da Conceição. It is currently owned by Santa Casa da Misericórdia and works as a juvenile home.

Contends that this House has been in the service of the Inquisition only as process file or as a prison until the prisoners being judged in the Court of Holy Office, in Évora.
