Museum located in the old building of the power station, which aims to recreate the environment of the mines of Lousal, being an integral part of the Foundation Frédéric Velge. These mines were extracted copper pyrites, between 1900 and 1988. Today you can visit the facilities, excavations and galleries of the mine, as well as the engines of power plant that supplied not only mine, but also the local population.

Formerly a dependency of the Arouca Monastery, to receive conventual income, Casa da Tulha is part of the Municipal Museum, being its current museum nucleus. Visits to Casa da Tulha must be booked at the Municipal Museum.

The building consists of two sections with sober and well-proportioned lines, already revealing a neoclassical taste. In 1802, the two lateral sections were linked by a large triumphal arch, commemorating the visit of D. João IV. It was transformed into a hotel, but maintains its original design.
