Fort built in 1676, after the end of the Restoration War that aimed to reinforce with its guns the defence of the coast near Setúbal. It was deactivated in 1853.

It formed, together with the Santa Catarina Fort, the defense of the Arade river estuary. Originally consisting of a watchtower, it was expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries. On the initiative of the poet Coelho Carvalho, at the beginning of the 20th century, the residence underwent major adaptation works, which gave it the romantic aspect it presents today.

Fortification belonging to historical Lines of Torres. Saves the defensive device that allowed defeat napoliónicas forces, under the command of general Wellington.

Strong pentagonal plant, once intended for the defense of the city of Horta and its port of pirates attacks. Have been named, initially, of Forte de Santo António and was built in the second half of the 16th century. The original defensive system only the outer walls. Was ceded, in 1927, the Town Hall of Horta to be torn down and increase the avenida marginal. However, the lack of funds meant that the plans were not fulfilled. In 1947 it was classified as National Monument and in 1969 an Inn was built in its interior, today "Pousada de Portugal".

A fort also known as Fortress of Cacela, it stands in a dominant position by the mouth of the Formosa river bank. The primitive fortification was a Moorish castle that preceded the reconquest of the Iberian Peninsula. During the 16th century, already in ruins, it was rebuilt by orders of Dom João III or Dom Sebastião. After the earthquake of 1755, it was rebuilt again by Dom Francisco de Noronha and the works were finished in 1794.

The walls of the old Tagarete pier fort, which served as protection against corsair attacks in the 17th and 18th centuries, still remain present today, separating the fishing port from the marina of Vila Franca do Campo.

Civil architecture farm accommodation, revival and neoclassical pombalina, deployed in gentle slope soils. To enhance certain decorative details in Pombaline late revival. Currently has residential function.

Built in the 17th century by command of Dom João IV, this small fortress has the royal arms and an inscription concerning its construction above the entrance. Throughout the centuries it had several occupations until it was given to the War Navy in 1947.

A fortress located on the beach, just a few metres away from the sea. Rebuilt in the 17th century ath the time of the Restoration Wars, it played an important role during Napoleon's invasions. It was part of the defence line in the Lima river banks and by the Atlantic Ocean.
